Editorial Policy

Root & Photon is an evidence-first indoor growing publication. This policy explains how we separate sourced information, editorial interpretation, commercial relationships, and unresolved questions.

Editorial standard

Pages should distinguish verified evidence from assumptions, product claims, affiliate incentives, and unresolved research questions. Claims about prices, availability, compatibility, safety, yield, or hands-on testing require current evidence and appropriately limited language.

Evidence and scope

Each article should state the evidence level that supports it and make material limitations visible. Official specifications, independent sources, original checks, and editorial synthesis are not treated as interchangeable evidence.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate relationships are kept separate from editorial conclusions. When a page contains a material commercial relationship, it will be disclosed clearly. No recommendation is published merely because a retailer, product, or program is commercially available.

What we do not claim

  • No fake hands-on tests or grow results.
  • No invented author or reviewer credentials.
  • No unverified product pricing, market availability, or affiliate-program participation.
  • No universal safety or outcome guarantees.

Corrections and updates

When a published claim is materially outdated, incomplete, or wrong, we review the supporting evidence and update, qualify, or remove the claim as appropriate. Meaningful article updates are dated on the page.
